Dr. Justin and Iris love giving back to the community, especially when it means we can be active at the same time and help out as a family. This fall, we enjoyed joining international students from the UCI School of Biological Sciences program as they got out and got moving.
Located at the south end of the city of San Clemente, California, San Clemente State Beach is known for spectacular views of the ocean, hills, and mountains and pleasant climate. The beach stretches out for a mile, flanked by the surf and the foot of a steep bluff.
San Clemente State Beach offers interpretive and educational programs and special events for students and families, including opportunities for volunteering and training. We loved getting back to nature with the UCI international students—thank you for letting us take part!
The UCI Campus boasts the state-of-the-art Anteater Recreation Center, which includes a 36’ high rock-climbing wall in the lobby. It was carefully designed to accommodate climbers of varying fitness levels. We all had a blast—and we’re proud to say that Dr. Justin made it all the way to the top!
